CLUB TRYOUT INFORMATION |
Northwest Juniors has always supported the idea that there is a place for players of all levels in their club. The club has grown so much in the past few years that it has become increasingly difficult to select teams at tryouts with 80-100 athletes in attendance. This year, the club will streamline tryouts, take smaller numbers at each tryout, and encourage athletes to attend the tryout that matches their skill and commitment level.
NATIONAL TEAMS |
PLATINUM TEAM TRYOUTS: This year, the club is offering a "College Prep" level of team for athletes that have a desire to play in college and be prepared for success at the collegiate level. We will select one U17 and one U16 team this first year of the program. Our Platinum team program is open to players from all over the region and will split practices between the Bellevue area and the Lynnwood/Everett area. For additional information read below under program descriptions. Tryouts are limited to just 30 athletes per tryout.
Tryouts for these teams will be held July 29 (U17) and July 30 (U16) in Bellevue.
BLACK/BLUE and WHITE/GREY TEAM TRYOUTS: The club will continue to offer #1 and #2 teams in both locations. These teams will continue to have a competitive schedule similar to previous seasons. Tryouts are limited to just 42 athletes per tryout.
Tryouts for these teams will be held at Juanita High School.
REGIONAL TEAMS |
The club will continue to offer our Regional Teams for players that are new to volleyball or players that are not looking for a large commitment with travel.
AQUA, TEAL, NAVY TEAM TRYOUTS: For players that do not make one of our National teams, are not looking for a National team experience, or have a lot of obligations that keep them from participating in a full travel schedule, we continue to offer a Regional team program. These teams will play primarily Puget Sound Region schedule with the possibility of traveling outside the region for one overnight trip. The season concludes with the regional championship tournament.
Tryouts for these teams will be held at Juanita High School.
Your age group is determined by how old your player will be on July 1st of 2026.

PLATINUM: College Prep Teams |
We plan to have one U17 and one U16 team in 2025-26 and draw athletes whose main goal is to play college volleyball. We will add U18 and U15 for the 2026-27 season. The teams will not be separated by geography like our typical “Eastside” and “Northend” teams. We plan to split practices between our two locations and draw athletes from all over the greater Puget Sound area.
Our goal for these teams is to help athletes move on to play in college by giving them the tools necessary to not only earn scholarships but also be successful wherever they go. Our staff will be comprised of current and former college coaches and athletes. Current committed staff are Tony Miranda, Vettiar Chup (University of Puget Sound), and Eric Han (fmr. UPS); with more coaches being added.
We understand that great volleyball players need more than the experience of being on a #1 team and playing in a season filled with tournaments that will get them noticed. They need other tools to be successful once they arrive on campus:

UNDERSTANDING THE TRYOUT PROCESS |
We have extensive information about the tryout process on a separate page. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with NW Juniors Tryout Process for our club season so you understand how it works if your athlete receives an offer. Included on that page:
TRYOUTS AND TEAM LOCATIONS |
Our Club offers teams in two separate geographic locations: "Eastside" and "Northend". These locations are determined by where the teams practice - not by where the players live.
Players often times live in close proximity to both locations and must choose which opportunity is the best fit for them. If your drive to the Northend practice gyms is manageable, we encourage you to choose our Northend teams for tryouts, since due to population density there are less players trying out for our Northend teams.
PLATINUM team practices are split between both Northend and Eastside locations.
For a full list of practice gyms, visit our PRACTICES page.
