USA Volleyball is announcing the elimination of sanctions for all USA Volleyball activities (including but not limited to events, practices, team activities, individual training sessions or anything covered by USA Volleyball insurance) through April 15, 2020. USA Volleyball is monitoring the situation daily and will continue to provide updates on a regular basis.
USA Volleyball has been asked by local clubs whether such ban applies to club activities covered under the club’s own (non-USA Volleyball) insurance. In these situations, USA Volleyball strongly encourages all member clubs and coaches to adhere to USA Volleyball’s policies. However, should a club decide to voluntarily disregard those policies and assume all risks associated therewith, we recommend that the club adhere to CDC; local, state and federal guidelines and recommendations when deciding whether or not to host practices or individual training sessions. If a club does host practice or individual training sessions, those activities would be considered a non-sanctioned activity by USA Volleyball and thus NOT covered by USA Volleyball insurance.
The health and welfare of our membership, volleyball families and fellow citizens is our primary concern in all decisions we are making during these uncharted times.
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM USA VOLLEYBALL
Posted March 13 @ 5pm MT
We are continuing to monitor the status of COVID-19 coronavirus. In the interest of welfare and safety of our membership, USA Volleyball is eliminating the sanctioning for all USA Volleyball activities (including but not limited to events, practices, individual training sessions, or any activity covered by USA Volleyball insurance), effective 11:59pm MT, Friday, March 13th. This ban on all USA Volleyball sanctioned activities extends through March 31st. We are monitoring the situation on a daily basis and will provide periodic updates as information becomes more apparent.
Just because you are stuck at home doesn't mean you can't stay active with volleyball or your fitness.
At the bottom of our PRACTICES page, we have posted some resources and links to videos that our athletes can access with instruction so they can stay active and improve at home.
Enjoy! ... and see you soon!
We have informed our members that in following with the USA Volleyball cancelling all event sanctions., to include practices, we will be cancelling our Bottega practices as well. Through March 31
With the limited amount of space available indoors and with schools closing, we want to be able to offer our athletes the opportunity to stay active and continue to play volleyball. We will make Bottega Beach available to our club members during the day as long as the weather cooperates. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FREE AND FOR NW JUNIORS CLUB PLAYERS ONLY!
We have explored the parameters of the HO Order #20-059 and offering these opportunities falls within the guidelines for groups of 250 or less. We will continue to sanitize and make sure that the environment remains viable.
We will have a "work party" on Saturday (March 14) from about 10 AM -2 PM to prepare the facility for play (we originally were planning on March 21).
Groups of teams will have open access to the Beach Facility beginning Monday, March 16. This is player-led OPEN PLAY, so whoever shows up can play doubles, fours, it doesn't matter. We are not currently planning on having coaching/instruction, though if coaches do attend, then that is an option. It will continue as long as the weather cooperates. Weather in the vicinity of Bottega is supposed to be in the mid-high 50's next week. Please check the online calendar for availability beyond March 19.
Below is a schedule with a list of teams and the window of time they will have access to Bottega.
