Joe Reuben

Head Coach

Joe is a recent transplant to the Seattle area from Virginia and we are happy to welcome him to NW Juniors. Joe has been involved with volleyball for more than thirty years with experience spanning the world, including time coaching in Europe and the United States. In addition to his club experience, Reuben continues to play in Master’s-level tournaments, and when not playing volleyball, Reuben is a USAV-certified official as well as a PAVO official, certified to work matches at the collegiate level. In 2016, Joe was selected to be the head coach of the 2017 United States Maccabi Games in Israel, in which they brought home a gold medal. 

Here are some highlights:

  • 25+ years of coaching volleyball at the club, high School and University levels. 
  • Club Founder and Director of  Cobb Atlanta VBC in Atlanta, GA.
  • Director of Capital Area VBC in Springfield, IL.
  • Head Coach of US girls team that won the Gold Medal at the Maccabi Games in Israel.
  • Involved in numerous HP tryouts in Saint Louis, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
  • Appointed to coach the Women's Open Women team at the Pan-Am Maccabi games in Mexico City. 
  • PAVO Referee, CAP, Safe Sport, and Impact certified.
  • Played and Coached at US Nationals.    
  • Worked as Field of Play Supervisor at volleyball venue during the 96 Olympic Games in Atlanta
  • Player of the year in the National League in the English Volleyball League
